The Ralph Synderman, MD, GME Research Award was established September 1, 2004 with a goal of encouraging and recognizing excellence in research involving graduate medical education. Winners are acknowledged by a prize of $1,000 and their name on a plaque.
Ralph Snyderman, MD, is Emeritus Chancellor for Health Affairs at Duke University, former President and CEO of Duke University Health System, and James B. Duke Professor of Medicine. He oversaw the development of the Duke University Health System, at the time, one of the first few fully integrated academic health systems in the country. He was a passionate advocate for medical education and excellence in teaching. He served as Chair of the Association of American Medical Colleges' Council of Deans and was past Chair of the AAMC.
All submissions should be sent as an email attachment to: kathryn.andolsek@duke.edu by 5 p.m. April 8, 2016. Submissions must be in the form of manuscripts that conform to award guidelines. If previously published, the publication date must be within the preceding twelve months.
