I am delighted to bring you wonderful news this morning. Paul Modrich, PhD, professor of biochemistry and Howard Hughes Medical Institute Investigator, has won the 2015 Nobel Prize in Chemistry. Paul’s groundbreaking work has been in the area of DNA repair - a fascinating area of basic biochemistry that is of fundamental importance to understanding cancer and other serious diseases.
We are planning a celebration to honor Dr. Modrich for early next week. Details regarding the celebration will be forthcoming.
