"I'm most looking forward to mentoring and helping our residents with various quality improvement projects around the department."
"I'm most looking forward to mentoring and helping our residents with various quality improvement projects around the department," says Boggan. "They take care of such a large percentage of the patients we touch in the inpatient settings and have such a breadth of experience across many of our primary care and subspecialty clinics that there will always be good ideas bubbling up from them." He is also looking forward to spending more time with residents in an educational and advisory role.
This new role includes work with the residents and chiefs on projects across the department both individually and through the Medicine Patient Safety and Quality Council. It will involve planning the morbidity and mortality / quality improvement conferences, and leading education around quality improvement for various learner levels. Boggan will also be the advisor for a subset of the residents and involved in the general Medicine Residency leadership team.
