Course Overview

The Duke Case-Based Multimodality Imaging Symposium is dedicated to exploring the evolving role of cardiovascular imaging through case-based learning and practical application. This symposium is designed for cardiac sonographers, imaging cardiologists, and healthcare professionals involved in cardiovascular imaging. Through expert-led case discussions, interactive panel sessions, and hands-on learning opportunities, the symposium aims to equip participants with the knowledge, skills, and clinical judgment necessary to navigate complex imaging scenarios. Participants will enhance their ability to integrate multimodality imaging, apply updated guidelines, and improve technical and interpretive skills, ultimately supporting high-quality patient care in the rapidly evolving field of cardiovascular imaging.

This symposium is designed for cardiac sonographers, imaging cardiologists, and healthcare professionals involved in cardiovascular imaging.

Learning Objectives

  • Apply multimodality imaging and advanced techniques in the evaluation of cardiomyopathies and interpret findings to guide clinical decision-making 
  • Interpret complex valvular cases and apply imaging findings to support appropriate clinical management 
  • Compare imaging modalities and apply multimodality strategies to complex clinical scenarios 
  • Define appropriate indications and limitations of point-of-care ultrasound (POCUS) and integrate it effectively into clinical practice 
  • Apply best practices in image acquisition and interpretation through hands-on learning experiences
