Cooney to serve on Board of Scientific Consultants for MSK Cancer Center

Kathleen Cooney, MDKathleen Cooney, MD, chair of the Department of Medicine, has agreed to serve as a member of the Board of Scientific Consultants of Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center. Dr. Cooney will serve a four-year term beginning in 2019.

The Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center Board of Scientific Consultants is an advisory group that provides an external review of research and clinical programs planned and undertaken by the Center, Hospital and Institute in pursuit of the goals of the Institution. 

Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center has devoted more than 130 years to exceptional patient care, innovative research, and outstanding educational programs. It is one of 50 National Cancer Institute–designated Comprehensive Cancer Centers, with state-of-the-art science flourishing side by side with clinical studies and treatment, and it is home to more than 17,000 physicians, scientists, nurses, and staff.
