Assistant Professor of Medicine, Nicole DePasquale, PhD, was accepted in to the RAND Summer Institute. This prestigious program takes place July 8-11at the RAND Headquarters in Santa Monica, California and includes a Mini-Med workshop and a Demography, Economics, Psychology, and Epidemiology of Aging Conference.
Depasquale was honored to have been selected for the institute.
"With a background in adult development and aging, I have had my eye on this prestigious, aging-focused summer program for quite a while," says DePasquale. "Participation in this program will improve my understanding of the patient experience for older adults and their family members, as my work at Duke has approached the health and medical treatment of patients from a psychosocial standpoint and the summer program will approach these topics from a biomedical standpoint."
Dr. DePasquale plans to submit a K award this year and is especially looking forward to receiving expert advice about constructing successful NIH proposals.
