Dr. Bowlby recognized as a Duke Hero

In the spirit of Duke Health’s You’re Why movement, Dean Mary Klotman is recognizing extraordinary efforts made by colleagues across the School of Medicine, Duke Health and the entire campus.

GIM Associate Professor, Dr. Lynn Bowlby, was recognized by Dean Klotman earlier this week. She was nominated by a colleague for being a hero they work with at the Duke Outpatient Clinic.

A colleague of Dr. Bowlby's wrote:

Dr. Bowlby has faced the challenges of COVID-19 head-on.  She is the medical director for the primary resident clinic, and coordinating (and communicating with) nearly 100 residents and attendings is complex under the best circumstances.  She has had regular Zoom meetings to keep staff coordinated, plus daily emails. She has embraced and supported creative problem solving, and she has brought in the clinic chaplain and licensed clinical social workers into the meetings for regular self-care time. For communication, coordination, and self-care promotion, Lynn is a hero!

"For communication, coordination, and self-care promotion, Lynn is a hero!"

Congratulations, Dr. Bowlby, and thanks for being a hero we work with!
