Dr. Conroy of Utah GIM visits Duke

We were delighted to have Dr. Molly Conroy  visit August 28-30, 2019, as our 2019 Distinguished Visiting Professor for the Division of General Internal Medicine. Conroy is the GIM division chief at the University of Utah. During her visit, she met with several of our faculty, fellows and trainees, shared insights, and gave two great lectures.

"We've been really honored to have her here," said Duke GIM Division Chief, Dr. Ebony Boulware, as she introduced Conroy at Medicine Grand Rounds Friday morning.

PRESENTATIONS
Both of her lectures addressed  “Pragmatic Approaches to Addressing Lifestyle in Primary Care using Technology and Team-Based Approaches”, where she built a case for attending to lifestyle and physical activity in primary and routine care settings, reviewed the evidence, and shared results of a randomized clinical trial recently completed at Utah called "Maintain PC". This study investigated the use of coaching to assist with weight maintenance in primary care settings.
