Dzau: BOT reappoints Dean Nancy Andrews

By ajz6@dhe.duke.edu
Victor J. Dzau, MD, chancellor for health affairs, sent this announcement to School of Medicine faculty today. I'm pleased to share with you that Nancy Andrews, MD, PhD, has been reappointed to a second five-year term as Dean of the Duke University School of Medicine starting July 1, 2012. Nancy's reappointment was approved by the Duke University Board of Trustees this past weekend following a broad review process conducted over the past several months in accordance with university policy. Nancy effectively led the School of Medicine through the historically challenging financial crisis at the end of the last decade and has advanced our academic mission through recruiting new department chairs, strengthening laboratory cores and developing new initiatives. I look forward to the contributions Nancy will continue to make across our clinical, research and educational missions. Please join me in congratulating Nancy on her reappointment.
