The Edward Mallinckrodt, Jr., Foundation seeks to support early stage, highly promising investigators engaged in basic or clinical research that has the potential to advance the understanding, diagnosis or treatment of disease.
The funds are designed to provide tenure track faculty members who hold MD and/or PhD degrees with start-up support to move the project forward to the point where R01 or other independent funding can be obtained.
A Duke review committee will select one nominee from the pool of applicants for the Scholar Award and two nominees for the research grants. Read the full principles and guidelines, here.
