Funding opp: University grants for arts collaborations

These two grants programs from the University can enhance the opportunity for interdisciplinary collaborations.

Proposals previously have been received and funded from units that are not traditionally arts related.

Collaboration Development Grant

  • Supports collaborations between artists/faculty members in their own or different disciplines to undertake new artistic work that enhances the professional standing of the participating artists.
  • Proposals for planning of a larger-scale project or to produce/present a completed project are eligible.
  • Maximum of $3,000 per award is available.
  • Proposals will be accepted and reviewed once each semester and are due by Mon., Sept. 22, 2014 and Fri, March 20, 2015 by 4:00 p.m.

Visiting Artist Grants

  • Supports projects that will enrich the life of the university and community, augment the curriculum, and contribute to the vitality and diversity of the arts at Duke.
  • Proposals must include a period of residency at Duke (anywhere from three days to a semester) and a teaching component.
  • Awards will be in the $10,000 - $20,000 range; however, a maximum of $40,000 could be awarded for an extraordinary project.
  • Proposals are due by Thurs., Feb. 5, 2015 by 4:00 p.m.
