Glass + team receive funding for Acupuncture in the ED project

Dr. Oliver Glass is a co-investigator on a research project that just received funding from The Duke Endowment (TDE) for a project entitled, "Emergency Department Acupuncture to Reduce Acute Pain and Opioid Use."

"The purpose of this study is to determine feasibility and acceptability of acupuncture in the Emergency Department for treatment of acute musculoskeletal pain."

"The purpose of this study is to determine feasibility and acceptability of acupuncture in the Emergency Department (ED) for treatment of acute musculoskeletal pain," explains Glass. The team's overall goal is to reduce opioid use for acute pain, anxiety, and disability by expanding non-pharmacologic treatment options at a critical healthcare system entry point.
