Dr. Kenneth Goldberg, Duke Associate Professor of Medicine and Chief of Staff for the Durham VA Medical Center, was recently named to the Strategic Academic Advisory Council in the Department of Veterans Affairs.
The council serves as an internal advisory body of the VA regarding academic affiliations issues. This 15-member group is comprised primarily of field professionals and leaders, four of whom are chiefs of staff like Dr. Goldberg. Duke runs deep amongst the current 15 council members – besides Goldberg, members include Duke alum Dr. Cathy Kaminetzky (U Wash) and former pulmonary fellow Dr. Ralph Shapiro (Minneapolis, MN).
Dr. Goldberg has served as Chief of Staff of the Durham VA Medical Center since August 2015. He completed medicine residency and fellowship in general internal medicine at Duke.
