Don't forget: Please send any of your news or kudos for your colleagues to Erin Payne.

Have a great week!

Resident Research Night - Poster Presentation

Resident Research Night will be held from 5-7 p.m. on May 4 in the Searle Center. Please sign up to display and present your poster, if you have presented your research, QI project or case vignettes at a local or National scientific meeting (e.g. NC ACP or subspecialty society meetings) or if you published a manuscript of your work during residency.

This event is an excellent opportunity for you to showcase your scholarly activities, interact with your colleagues and DoM faculty, and have fun at the same time during the reception.

You can drop off your poster in the MedRes office and we will hang it for you on May 4th prior to the presentations at 5 p.m.

If you need to have a new poster printed, our office will help you with this. Please email Tia for any assistance (thank you Tia!!).

There will be best poster selections (research and Qi project) by the Chief residents and award presentations.

Duke Clinical Research Day - May 18 - Poster Presentation

Residents are encouraged to submit an abstract of your poster by April 14 and participate during the poster presentation event on May 18 at Trent Semans Center 6th floor.

The residency office will help to print your posters and we will hang them on the display boards on May 18 for you until you can come in for poster judging. Please let us know how our Program can help you in any other way.

Register today.

Resident Wellness Initiative Grants

We are pleased to announce a new funding opportunity entitled “Resident Wellness Initiative Grants” for resident-led, innovative projects dedicated to promote the well-being of our residents which is of utmost importance to our Program and Duke family.

The proposed innovative initiatives will promote and preserve Internal Medicine resident physician wellness by building skills to handle the challenges and the pace of the current healthcare environment, while continuing to provide quality care to patients.

  1. Two awards each $2,500/project will be funded.
  2. Funding start date is July 1, 2017.
  3. Each proposal must be led by one or more SARs (current JARs) during the 2017-2018 academic year. Extension of funding may be requested next year beyond June 30, 2018.
  4. Teamwork is encouraged to include JARs and incoming interns and multiple SARs may lead one project.
  5. Faculty sponsor/advisor may be recruited but not required.
  6. Additional funding for a larger award may be available depending on the level of interest and budgets of the project(s). The award committee will review and make a decision on each proposal.
