From the Director
Glad you all liked the April Fool’s joke, some more than others!
As far as program things, this week we have some excellent noon conferences and reports. Be on the lookout for signups for (seriously!) end of year meetings with either Dr. Hargett or me. We will start the meetings in May so that we can get everyone in by the end of June! SARs, please make sure you are signing up for the ABIM Boards exam. For those applying for fellowship in this cycle, the ERAS dates were released (ERAS will open for purchasing tokens and getting started on your application on JUNE 9, and you can start sending applications to programs on JULY 7.)
We had a great discussion with Dr. Dale Okorodudu and the UNC and Wake IM Residencies on the "Black Men in White Coats" movie. Many thanks to Marius Chukwurah and Lonnie Sullivan for serving as panelists.
Kudos
Kudos this week to Daniel Bernstein and Sara Coles from Dr. Aubrey Jolly-Graham for a great DC summary on a patient going to skilled nursing, to Nathan Brajer from Dr. G for expertly leading a family meeting, to Felicia Cao from Dr. Goldberg for identifying and fixing an error at the VA, to Nathan Brajer and Alex Reddy from Chen Lin for excellent care of complex hematology patients, to Sara Coles and Aman Kansal from Dr. Joe Brogan for their amazing work on the busiest procedure service day ever, to Joe Wawrzynski from Felicia Cao for being an awesome VA Hosp teammate, to Nick Ashur, Nadia Yimer, Trent Wei, Micah Schub and Cameron Oswalt from Hubie Haywood for being awesome MICU SARs, to Stacy Bagrova and Rachel Tobin for helping overnight with a sick patient from Olivia Jew, to Sarah Moserowitz and Allison Taylor (from each other) for being amazing gen med interns! Have a great week!
