From the Director

It’s ERAS application due date! Congrats to all our fellowship-bound residents – we're looking forward to the interview process. Please reach out if you have any questions or concerns.

What a great couple of weeks in the IM Residency. It has been really fun to see everyone really settling in to their roles, including bringing it with outstanding attendance at noon conference!

Please check ahead on the calendar for some of the upcoming social events, including the Thursday ResCo Standing Socials, the Stead-sponsored Durham Bulls game, and the summer celebration.

Kudos
Kudos this week to Josh Lee for his outstanding SAR talk (first of the year!); to Nate Goodwin and Jen Dziwis from Felicia Cao for doing a great job when pulled for DHP; to Stacy Bagrova from Tanmay Gokhale for going above and beyond to care for a sick patient in the VA ED; to Ryan Keane, Connor Moseley, Neesha Nama, and Aaron Hein for the superb work that they did managing extremely sick patients on CAD nights these past two weeks, from Lonnie Sullivan; to Lauren Donnangelo, Hunter Roark, Megan Corey, and Helena Barber (with attending Katie Batley) for being more fun than our gen med team (is it possible?) and going out as a team to Maple View Farms; to Sonali Bracken for her work helping a very sick patient in the VA CCU; and to Geargin Wilson and Brittany Chapman for displaying some fierce endocrine knowledge in Friday’s noon conference.

Congratulations also to Nate Goodwin on his engagement!

PubMed from the Program
This week’s Pubmed from the Program goes to Aman Kansal for his upcoming spotlight presentation at the Machine Learning for Healthcare conference! Congratulations Aman!

Have a great week!
