Medicine faculty to teach special course on diabetes at ACP Internal Medicine meeting

Diana McNeill, MD, professor of medicine (Endocrinology, Metabolism and Nutrition), has organized a diabetes precourse for the American College of Physicians Internal Medicine Meeting in May.

The day-long course will include presentations by Duke faculty and others, including Dr. McNeill, Duke Endocrinology faculty members Tracy Setji, MD, assistant professor of medicine, and Jenny Tong, MD, temporary instructor, and Cary Ward, MD, associate professor of medicine (Cardiology).

McNeill will teach a session on "Diagnosis and Management of Pre diabetes." Dr. Setji will teach a session on "Guideline Based Decisions in the Medical Management of Type 2 Diabetes," and Dr. Tong will teach a session on "Weight Loss Options For Patients with Diabetes."

Dr. Ward's session will be on "Cardiovascular Risk Modification for the Patient with Diabetes."
