The Duke Institute for Genome Sciences & Policy is now accepting proposals for interdisciplinary research projects that address an aspect of the genome sciences and its implications for individuals, society, and the world. Projects can come from all fields – from the life sciences and engineering, to humanities and the social sciences, to law, health, and business.
To promote new interactions across campus, proposed projects should involve two or more faculty members who represent different fields, have not already worked on a project together, and who preferably hold appointments in different schools at Duke.
All proposals should have a component that addresses the projects implications/consequences for society as well as individuals. Also, a description of how faculty will be engaged in the study of genome ethics or law, public, social, and science policy should be included.
