Dr. Larry Greenblatt, GIM Professor of Medicine and leader of the Duke Opioid Safety Task Force, was recently featured in an article in Modern Healthcare entitled, "Helping physicians be smarter opioid prescribers".
The article discussed the concern Greenblatt faced back in 2013 with the rise of opioid prescribing in the state of North Carolina as well as an increase in reports of people overdosing from painkillers. It was then that Greenblatt and other health professionals at Duke created the Duke Opioid Safety Task Force.
