Perlman to serve on National Advisory Council

We are pleased to announce that the Secretary of Health and Human Services, Sylvia Burwell, has invited Dr. Adam Perlman, Executive Director of Duke Integrative Medicine and Associate Professor of Medicine, to serve on the National Advisory Council for Complementary and Integrative Health.

"I’m honored to serve on the Council and to do my part to support NCCIH’s goal of funding important research on Complementary and Integrative Health that guides both providers and the public," says Perlman.

During this four-year term Dr. Perlman will participate in making recommendations to the Director about research and program priorities. Ex Officio members besides Secretary Burwell include the NIH Director, Dr. Francis Collins, and Dr. Tracy Gaudet, formerly of Duke and currently the Director of the VA Office of Patient Centered Care and Cultural Transformation.
