PWIM announces spring sessions on media relations, research funding, more

Mark your calendars. The Program for Women in Internal Medicine is hosting several upcoming peer mentoring sessions that will be of interest across the Department of Medicine:
  • Rachel Harrison and Michael Garrison from Duke Medicine Office of News & Communications will present "Discussion on Media Relations - General Guidelines, Available Resources," on Monday, April 8 from 12-1 p.m. in 208 Carl building.
  • Annette A. Whitesell, director of the Office of Faculty Appointments, Promotion and Tenure, and Molly Starback, director of the Office of Postdoctural Services, will lead a discussion about resources available to post-docs and what appointment entails on Wednesday, April 17 from 12-1 p.m. in the Department of Medicine Chair's Conference Room, 1103DN.
  • Peter Ubel, MD, professor of marking and public policy (with a secondary appointment in medicine) and member of the Duke Institute for Brain Sciences, will present "Effective Strategies for Dissemination of Research," on Monday, May 13 from 12-1 p.m. in 208 Carl building.
  • Mary Klotman, MD, chair of the Department of Medicine, and Joe Doty, vice chair for administration, will present "Current Research Funding Flow in DOM," on Monday, June 3 from 12-1 p.m. in the Chair's Conference Room, 1103 DN.
