Quality & Innovations Scholars Program Symposium

The Institute for Healthcare Improvement Open School @ Duke hosted its second annual quality symposium on April 20, 2016, showcasing the work of the 2015-2016 Quality & Innovation Scholars. These efforts were recognized with $3000 in scholarships to represent Duke at the 2016 IHI National Forum that takes place this December in Orlando, Florida. Multiple GIM members took part in this event.

Kudos to Julia Gamble, NP, and Lynn Bowlby, MD who mentored SOM students Yingna Liu and Lauren Teague. Both students received partial travel scholarships ($500 each) for their project entitled “Standardizing Protocols in the Duke Outpatient Clinic” to present at IHI in December 2016.
George Cheely, MD, and Jon Bae, MD, participated in a  panel entitled “Students Transforming Healthcare”.
Alicia Clark, MDDavid Ming, MDBrian Griffith, MD, and Pooh Setji, MD, were mentors of projects on display and Alicia Clark’s student project on paging culture won best in show!

Congratulations to all who took part in this great event to help transform healthcare!
