Rao named to ASH scientific committee on myeloid neoplasia

Arati Rao, MD, associate professor of medicine (Hematological Malignancies and Cellular Therapy) has been named to the American Society of Hematology Scientific Committee on Myeloid Neoplasia, which focuses on the biology and treatment of myeloid malignancies. Dr. Rao is a practicing geriatric oncologist, with clinical and research interests that include age-related changes in Acute Myeloid Leukemia. The invitation to join the ASH committee, said David Rizzieri, MD, professor of medicine (Hematological Malignancies and Cellular Therapy) and section chief of the Hematological Malignancies Program, "is further recognition for Arati's impact nationally on the care of these patients both within the geriatric field as well as new agent development."
