Registration for acclaimed Write Winning Grants seminar now open

By Anton Zuiker
The annual Write Winning Grants seminar organized by the SOM Office for Faculty Development will be held on Thurs., July 31, 2014 from 8:30am to 5pm in the Medical Student Amphitheater in Duke South. The seminar comprehensively addresses practical and conceptual aspects important to the proposal-writing process, including idea development, identification of the most appropriate granting agency, how to write for reviewers, and tips and strategies that are of proven value in presenting an applicant's case to reviewers. Participants are taught to organize their presentations using a linear progression of logic, which leads reviewers through their applications. The seminar will also address recent changes to how grant proposals are written and reviewed. The seminar will be led by Stephen Russell, DVM, PHD, of Grant Writers’ Seminars and Workshops. Registration is required, and seats are limited. Registration will be limited to faculty until May 22, at which point it will open up to staff, students, and trainees.
