Research Conference 3/29/13: Animals in a microbial world

The Medicine Research Conference returns Fri., March 29 at 12 p.m. in Duke Hospital 2002 with a presentation by John Rawls, PhD, assistant professor of molecular genetics and microbiology. Dr. Rawls will present Animals in a microbial world: a new imperative for the biomedical sciences Rawls is a new recruit to Duke, brought here through the School of Medicine Partnership Hires initiative; he currently is at UNC-CH. At Duke, he will hold joint appointments in medicine and in the Institute for Genome Sciences and Policy. His research focuses on intestinal microbiota, digestive physiology, adipose tissue physiology and zebrafish as model organism. Lunch will be provided. Presentation begins promptly at noon.
