Sata receives Hospital Medicine's 2021 Excellence in Education Award

This year’s winner for the Excellence in Education Award for Hospital Medicine Suchita Sata. Dr. Cooney and the Department of Medicine sponsor this award for each of the Divisions and we are incredibly proud of Suchita for winning this well-deserved award. Congratulations Suchita!

Dr. Sata has served the Department in a leadership role for the Program for Women in Internal Medicine. In this role and beyond, she has served as a mentor for learners and colleagues throughout our Schools.  Dr. Sata receives wonderful evaluations from students in the Clinical Skills Course and the Capstone Course.  Her passion for medical education has also led to her leadership in the GME Medical Education Leadership Track, where she serves as Associate Director. She has led the Duke Hospital Medicine group in scholarly work around education, both locally, regionally at CME conferences, and nationally with numerous publications.

We want to thank Jenny Van Kirk, Colby Feeney, Pahresah Roomiany, and Marie Witte for their incredible contributions to our educational mission. Each one of the nominees continues to great work in our Programs and clearly stand out in the Department.
