School of Medicine seeking nominations for curriculum committee

Edward G. Buckley, MD, vice dean for education, and Colleen O’Connor Grochowski, PhD, associate dean for curricular affairs, are seeking nominations for faculty members to serve on the School of Medicine Curriculum Committee.

To nominate faculty members (or yourself), please send an email to colleen.grochowski@duke.edu by Fri., Oct. 3, 2014.

The Curriculum Committee is charged to determine the direction, general content, assessment, and policies for the medical student curriculum.  It supports the implementation, ongoing review, and renewal of the educational program. The committee is composed of faculty, staff, and students of the School of Medicine.  The Curriculum Committee is advisory to the Vice Dean for Education.

Service on the Curriculum Committee requires

  • Attendance and active participation in monthly meetings (usually the first Wednesday of the month from 5:00pm – 6:30pm)
  • Participation on at least one Comprehensive Course Review team
  • Participation on Ad Hoc committees commissioned as needed to review overall effectiveness of the educational program

The length of term is three years.
