Schulman in The Hill: 'Here's what's in store for 2018 health care'

Professor of Medicine and Health Care Economist, Dr. Kevin Schulman, was recently published in The Hill,  an American political journalism newspaper and website published in Washington, DC. The opinion article, published online December 28, 2017, is entitled, "From CHIP reauthorization to drug prices — here's what's in store for 2018 health care, where he discusses the concerns regarding the individual insurance market since the removal of the individual mandate, especially as it pertains to the future of the Children’s Health Insurance Plan (CHIP).

In the article, Schulman explains, "Health represents an enormous challenge for the Congress and the country. At the most basic level, we are facing a decrease in life expectancy as a result of the opioid epidemic, the continuing obesity epidemic, and we have identified significant disparities in life expectancy across income levels of the population. The factors shaping these adverse health care outcomes reflect shortcomings of both public health and health care delivery systems."

This isn't the first opinion article in The Hill from Schulman; his last one (published in early December) was entitled "GOP abandons state sovereignty fight on health care."
