SGIM 2018: Here's what's coming

Health IT: Empowering General Internists to Lead Digital Innovation, that's what this years's annual meeting of the Society of General Internal Medicine is about. The conference takes place later this week, April 11-14, in Denver, CO. The onsite program is now available online here, or check out the Duke at SGIM 18 (PDF), for all things Duke that are taking place at the meeting.

Great plenary sessions: 

  • THURSDAY: Open Plenary Session will be given by Eric Horvitz, MD, PhD, Technical Fellow and Managing Director at Microsoft Research.
    2018 Malcolm L. Peterson Honor Lecture 
    *Note: Duke Resident, Azalea Kim, MD, will be giving a short presentation during this plenary session.
  • FRIDAY: Presidential Address by Thomas H. Gallagher, MD, 2017 – 2018 SGIM President.
    Topic: Overcoming Our Innovation Inhibitions

Duke Networking Reception

Every year Duke GIM hosts a networking reception for all those from Duke who are in attendance. This year the reception will take place Thursday, April 12, 6:30 - 8:30 pm, in room Directors Row E (Plaza Building, Lobby Level), inside the Sheraton Hotel. If you're coming to the annual meeting, you won't want to miss this gathering!
