Shah Selected for ACC Emerging Faculty Leadership Academy

Nishant Shah, MD, assistant professor of the division of Cardiology, has been selected from a highly competitive group of candidates to participate in the 2023 American College of Cardiology (ACC) Emerging Faculty Leadership Academy.

Shah is co-director of Cardiology Grand Rounds at Duke and a member of the Duke Clinical Research Institute.

The ACC Academy is a leadership course for cardiology faculty who have demonstrated prior success in education and leadership. One cardiology faculty member is selected per institution and institutions are represented around the country. Duke cardiology has a strong historical track record of faculty members selected for the academy over the years.

The goal is to further develop a faculty members leadership, educational, and mentorship skills since selected faculty members are put at the forefront in promoting the ACC’s educational mission and to serve as ACC leaders.

“It’s certainly an honor to be selected and to represent Duke!” said Shah, aa 2013 graduate of Wake Forest University School of Medicine.

Dr. Shah did his internal medicine residency at Johns Hopkins and a completed a fellowship in cardiovascular medicine at the Cleveland Clinic.  He joined the Duke faculty in 2019.
