Nancy Andrews, MD, PhD, dean of the School of Medicine, announced today that Mark Stacy, MD, professor of medicine (Neurology) has been appointed to the position of vice dean for clinical research, effective immediately.
Mark is a highly respected clinical investigator and a talented administrator who has served as Associate Dean for Clinical Research since 2009. He has a deep understanding of our complex environment, and has been a key driver in improving our clinical research practice and in developing the site-based research director community. Mark worked closely with Sally Kornbluth in her role as Vice Dean for Research, and has been an integral part of all the recent changes that have taken place within the clinical research enterprise. As Vice Dean for Clinical Research, Mark will continue to work in partnership with Sally, who recently moved into her new role as Vice Dean for Basic Science. Mark has a compelling vision for the future of clinical research here, and I am looking forward to working with him more closely. Please join me in congratulating Mark on his appointment.
Dr. Stacy joined Duke in 2003, and he is director of Duke’s Movement Disorders Center. He served as director of the Neurology Clinical Research Organization prior to moving to the Dean's Office.
