Janet Reagan, director of finance for the Department of Medicine, and Jennifer Frith, nurse manager in the Adult Blood and Marrow Transplant Program, were among 23 Duke employees to be honored Thur., April 26, with 2017 Meritorious Service Awards for contributions to Duke University and Duke University Health System.
The Meritorious Service Award winners were recognized by Duke University President Vincent E. Price during the Presidential Awards reception at the Washington Duke Inn. They received an award and check for $250.
Ms. Reagan has worked in the Department of Medicine for more than 35 years, and her current role is overseeing finance and budget for the Department. She has been recognized by Department and School of Medicine leaders for her leadership, integrity, and dedication.
"The respect for Janet's dedication and love for Duke are unmistakable to all who work with her in this very imporatnat role," said Cathy Wood, MBA, vice chair for administration. "Janet embodies Duke's Guiding Values every single day and is an incredible asset to us here in the Department of Medicine, as well as the institution at large."
Ms. Frith has worked in the ABMT program for the past eight years. She is recognized by leaders of that program for her leadership and passion for transplant nursing.
"Under Jennifer's leadership, the ABMT Clinic has consistently maintained a Tier 1 status for staff satisfaction for many years. Jennifer has provided sound, valuable, thoughtful leadership to all of the staff in the program," said Martha Lassiter, RN, MSN, AOCNS, BMTCN, ABMT and Hematologic Malignancies CNS.
