Wang + Diamantidis author article in BMC Nephrology

Virginia Wang, PhD, Clarissa Diamantidis, MD, et al. authored a recent research article in BMC Nephrology entitled, Minding the gap and overlap: a literature review of fragmentation of primary care for chronic dialysis patients. The paper looks at the collaboration and communication of primary care physicians (PCPs) and nephrologists in patients with end-stage renal disease.

What did they find? According to the publication, "there was general agreement among providers that PCPs should be involved but time, appropriate roles, and miscommunication are potential barriers to good primary care for dialysis patients." Read the full article and findings here

BMC Nephrology is an open access journal publishing original peer-reviewed research articles in all aspects of the prevention, diagnosis and management of kidney and associated disorders, as well as related molecular genetics, pathophysiology, and epidemiology. Wang is also on the journal's editorial board
