Welcome new faculty + staff

We are proud to welcome 8 new faculty and staff members to the Division of General Internal Medicine:

NEW FACULTY MEMBERS: 

Sutoidem ("Suto") Akpanudo, MD, comes to us from Marshall University Hospital in Huntington, West Virginia, and now joins the Hospital Medicine team at Duke University Hospital.

Manisha Bhattacharya, MD, just completed her 4 year residency combined Internal Medicine/Management Leadership Pathway at Duke and joins our faculty as a Medical Neuro-Oncology hospitalist at the Duke Brain Tumor Center. 

Katie Charles, MD, joins our faculty as a hospitalist at the Durham VA. She just copleted her Internal Medicine Residency at Duke. 

Tatyana Der, MD, has been a hospitalist at Duke Raleigh Hospital since 2017 and now takes the title of Assistant Professor. 

Danielle Pierson, MD, completed her combined medicine and pediatrics residency at the University of South Florida and now joins Duke GIM as a hospitalist at the Durham VA. 

Jesse Rhodes, MD, joins us from the University of Cincinatti where he just finished up his Internal Medicine residency. He joins our division as a hospitalist at Duke University Hospital. 

Balvir Singh, MD, comes to Duke from The University of North Carolina - Chapel Hill where he just completed his Internal Medcine Residency there. He is now a hospitalist at Duke University Hospital. 


NEW STAFF MEMBER: 

Patricia Bunn is a Staff Assistant in DGIM and will be administrative support for the GIM team. She has been with Duke for over 20 years and has held several different positions. Her background is primarily in finance.
