What are your career goals?

My goal is to work in a predominantly outpatient setting and establish long term patient relationships.

What were you looking for in a fellowship program?

I wanted to find a program with a collegial environment and an emphasis on teaching physiology. Most importantly, I was looking for an institution with a wide catchment area that would provide exposure to a large variety of pathologies.

Which Scholar pathway will you choose and why?

I plan to choose the clinical pathway as it aligns best with my career goals.

What are the strengths of the Duke program?

The Duke nephrology program aims to help you excel in whatever area you choose. They provide a wide array of experiences/opportunities to help you find your niche and there is no pressure to choose a certain track over another. The faculty are very friendly and supportive, which makes the transition from resident to fellow much smoother. The night float system means that there are never any 24 hour calls.
