What are your career goals?
My career goals are first and foremost to be an excellent nephrologist—clinically competent, intellectually curious, and deeply caring about the patients we serve. If I were to subspecialize further, onconephrology would likely be the direction. 

What were you looking for in a fellowship program?
I was looking for a program that provided robust clinical training, broad exposure to a wide range of pathologies, and readiness to practice nephrology in any setting after fellowship. I was also looking for a place where fellows received support and mentorship as they prepared to launch into their careers. Duke nephrology was a program that met all those qualifications, and where the fellows notably seemed happy as they progressed through their training.

Which Scholar pathway will you choose and why?
I am most passionate about being a clinician, so I will likely pursue the clinical concentration pathway. That being said, I look forward to participating in research projects throughout fellowship and continuing to develop a research skillset. 

What are the strengths of the Duke program?
After interviewing broadly, I was convinced that the Duke program was undeniably the best. I was so impressed by the combination of camaraderie, mentorship, and strong clinical training—qualities that have continued to prove true during the initial transition into fellowship. I don’t think a stronger sense of community exists at any program, which starts from the top with our wonderful program director. I am so excited to begin my nephrology journey with Duke.
