What are your career goals? 
I love clinical medicine. I also enjoy variety in my professional life which is a reason I was drawn to nephrology as a specialty. I hope to achieve a blend of clinical medicine in the inpatient and outpatient settings. I also enjoy teaching and hope for the opportunity to engage with the next generation of medical practitioners and educators.

What were you looking for in a fellowship program? 
Aside from the obvious desire to have the best opportunity to achieve clinical excellence, I was looking for a fellowship program which fosters a strong sense of community among the fellows and their educators. I learn best when I am surrounded by inspiring and welcoming colleagues and I wanted a fellowship program that would filter the applicants not only by their academic acumen, but by their desire for a productive and supportive culture.

Which Scholar pathway will you choose and why? 
I will choose the Clinical Concentration pathway. Patient care is the reason I chose medicine as a career path. This has been affirmed consistently as I have narrowed my focus over the past decade to find my way to nephrology. I hope to maximize my time in clinical training with the goal of graduating the program primed to be an excellent clinical nephrologist.

What are the strengths of the Duke program? 
The Duke nephrology program has extremely strong leadership which fosters a culture of productive learning. Both faculty and fellow leaders are invested in creating an environment that will challenge the Duke nephrology fellows to push their clinical and academic boundaries.
