Start Year: 2025
Fellowship Track: Clinical
Originally from: Denver, Colorado
Education and training:
- Undergraduate: Colorado State University in Fort Collins
- Medical School: University of Colorado SOM in Aurora
- Residency: University of Vermont in Burlington
Career goals:
- Help people achieve hormonal harmony through patient centered care and evidenced-based practice.
- Spread osteoporosis awareness and close care gaps.
Reasons I chose Duke:
- Duke has a close-knit Endocrinology community, a fellow-driven program, approachable faculty, extensive clinical/research opportunities, and a great surrounding city and landscape. The harder question would be, why not Duke?
Happy surprises:
- The whole hospital has been full of kind people, from the neurosurgery residents to the hospitalists to the nurses.
- The decorated food scene in Durham (my favorites so far are Isaacs Bagels, Fonda Lupita, Namu, and Roses Noodles).
- The sense of community was past what I could have imagined. People here remember you and your story and genuinely focus on making you succeed. During my first day on the inpatient service, I was separately approached by the program director, multiple APPs, my attending and a second-year fellow to see if I had questions or if there was anything I needed.
