What are your career goals?
I am pursuing a career at the intersection of geriatrics and palliative care, with the goal of working with patients and their loved ones across the continuum of care for people with life-limiting illness. I hope to stay in academics to focus on improving inclusion of informal care partners in the health care system.
What were you looking for in a fellowship program?
I was looking for a program that would expose me to a variety of models and venues for care of the elderly, and I was particularly interested in working at the VA since I really enjoyed that system during medical school.
What are the strengths of the Duke Geriatric Fellowship program?
I love my co-fellows! They are certainly the best part of the program, and I am so excited to be their life-long colleagues (and friends). Duke geriatrics also delivers on introducing its fellows to a variety of care models.
Other hobbies, activities or scholarly info about yourself that you want to share?
We have a weekly meeting with the fellows and program leadership, and I bake something new to bring each week.
