Career and Research Goals

I have always been passionate about general Hematology and medical Oncology. During residency, I have been fortunate to publish many projects in benign Hematology, but since the start of fellowship, I found myself mostly excited about solid Oncology, with a major interest in Melanoma, I find that caring for those patients is the most challenging in the age of immunotherapy. I look forward to achieving my career and research goals in the field of solid oncology/immunotherapy, more specifically skin malignancies. My research is mostly clinical, focusing on translational/early phase clinical trial projects.

• Poster finalist at the American College of Physicians (ACP) national 2019 annual conference.
• Second place for best poster at MSU medical education 2019 annual conference.
• ACP Young achiever award 2019.
• International media coverage and recognition (MSUtoday, The Telegraph London and many others) for our Vitamin-D ASCO Poster 2019.
• Academic Research chief resident at MSU, academic year 2019-2020

What are the strengths of the Duke program?

Duke has clearly provided the great balance between an excellent clinical exposure and training, giving trainees autonomy, incredible faculty and curriculum, in addition to enough time for protected and well-supported research time. That way they give their fellows all the tools and platform to achieve any career path they choose in Hematology and medical Oncology.
