Tell us briefly about your background before embarking on your medical training?
I grew up in Brooklyn, NY with four siblings. Having four built-in best friends in life has been amazing and I have learned a lot from them including friendly competition and strong advocacy. I played a lot of video games/board games and pickup basketball growing up - though have now given up basketball for tennis. 
Volunteering at my local hospital during highschool was my first introduction into field of medicine and was the catalyst for my career trajectory.

Outline your career plans in gastroenterology (If you know it at this point in your training)?
I am very interested in advanced endoscopy and still teasing apart what my niche within it will be.

What were you looking for in a fellowship program?
Because I was leaving my hometown, NYC, I was looking for a program that was not only a tertiary referral center but also a program that would foster strong collegiality between fellows.

What advice might you offer residents looking at fellowship programs?
During fellowship, your interests may shift so it is important to select a program with experts in numerous fields and not simply the field you anticipate subspecializing in.

How is your life in the Triangle area outside of work?
I enjoying cooking/grilling, hanging out with family and friends, playing tennis, board games, and running/fitness. I enjoy taking on new projects around the house and finding products that are actually worth buying (BIFL!)

Glasshouse Kitchen
