From the Director

Happy last week of FUN-bruary.  Don’t forget to come by the med res office and get your water bottle from the Dept of Medicine and if you were at DRH or on nights, Emily has your Duke GME GME Week T Shirt!  Plus, this week we bring back the MED RES OFFICE SNACK BASKET!  Guaranteed to help you stop by 8254 and say hi.

Progress is being made on the porch but the living room is now a storage zone so will have to reschedule the final Funbruary (construction zone) porch night to another time.  Keep an eye out for other events, including a GI Division sponsored meet and greet with faculty as well as a Match Day March 17 Happy Hour.  Of course our most exciting event this week is CHIEF TRIVIA GRAND ROUNDS! Be there at 8 am on Friday to show the Faculty that you know your stuff, followed by the NC-ACP weekend where we have poster presentations, a talk by Chief Lonnie Sullivan and trivia bowl competition coached by Dr Michael Burt, featuring Shannon McGue, Jackie Kercheval and Eric Wilson! LET’S GO!

Kudos

Huge thanks to Dr. Oloruntoba-Sanders for leading the MRRC Black History Month trivia on Friday and to Ashley Thrower and the MHC for their Black History Month event as well.  Other kudos to Katie Jordan and Kathryn Clary for their dedicated care helping a patient get what she needed to go home from clinic and not to the hospital, to Leslie Beer in the CICU from Shelief Robbins-Juarez for being an incredibly helpful team member in several challenging situations, and to Kurren Mehta, Vivien Lee and Isabel Byers for great work on 9300 from Dr Matt Labriola. Also huge thanks to Tyler Couch, Omar Martinez Uribe (and Marrion) and Joseph Goddu from our City of Medicine partners for staffing the career fair!
