Internal Medicine Residency News - May 5th, 2025
Hope everyone had a chance to enjoy some part of the nice weather this weekend! We are closing in on the end of this academic year – Dr. Hargett and I are looking forward to meeting with interns (Dr Hargett) and SARs (me) for end of year meetings and working with JARs on their fellowship and job plans. We have a visiting professor for Grand Rounds this week, invited by Amanda as her Greenfield visiting professor. Would love to see a great turnout at Grand Rounds to welcome her!
THIS WEEK is the last week to submit your poster for Resident Research Day! If you presented locally or nationally at a meeting this year – please see the email from Bridget Copen to submit.
Congratulations to Cayla Pichan on her wedding this past weekend – with a great #DukeFam crowd on hand to celebrate!
This past week we had the Dept of Medicine Annual Awards dinner. Big congratulations to amazing APDs Matt Labriola and Joe Plaksin for winning the Excellence in Education Awards for their divisions (Medical Oncology and General Internal Medicine). We also had the opportunity to thank our SARs and Chiefs on behalf of the Dept of Medicine and to recognize winners of several of our IM residency selected awards. These awards plus the other IM residency awards will be presented at noon conference on May 30th as well. Congratulations to:
