The Durham VA's pulmonary research laboratories include 1,500 square feet of space in the research wing of the Durham Veterans Affairs Medical Center.
This space is designed for biochemical and molecular biological work, cell and tissue culture, and support of electron microscopic studies.

Electron microscopy facilities include two fully equipped darkrooms and a JEOL 1200 transmission electron microscope.
