Department seeks candidates for chair of Program for Women in Internal Medicine

The Department of Medicine is seeking candidates for the position of associate vice chair for faculty development and diversity, who will serve as chair of the Program for Women in Internal Medicine (PWIM).

PWIM is a Department of Medicine-sponsored program that includes all women faculty and trainees. Its goal is to build and maintain a supportive and equitable work environment that facilitates career advancement and satisfaction among women faculty and trainees.

The current PWIM chair, Lisa Criscione-Schreiber, is now vice chair for education for the Department of Medicine.

"Lisa's new role opens an opportunity for someone else to take on the PWIM leadership role," said Laura Svetkey, MD, vice chair for faculty development and diversity.

Candidates for the PWIM chair should explain how they will develop and implement innovative new ideas to serve the needs and interests of women faculty and trainees.

The PWIM chair will work closely with Kimberley Evans, MD, chair of the Minority Recruitment and Retention Committee, and will report to Dr. Svetkey.

Contact Dr. Svetkey with your questions.
