Grand Rounds 10/17/14: A brief history of interventional devices

On Fri., Oct. 17, as part of the annual Duke Medical Alumni weekend, Medicine Grand Rounds moves to the Great Hall of the Trent Semans Center for Health Education.

The event will feature John B. Simpson, PhD, MD, chief executive officer of Avinger. He will present A Brief History of Interventional Devices for the annual Eugene A. Stead Jr., MD, Lecture. Dr. Simpson earned his MD from the Duke School of Medicine, and he completed his internal medicine residency here. A continental breakfast will be served beginning at 7:30 a.m. Presentation begins at 8 a.m. Robert Califf, MD, vice chancellor for clinical and translational research, will offer introductory remarks on innovation at Duke Medicine.
