What are your career goals?

My goal is to use my medical knowledge to educate and improve the health of underserved communities. Ideally, this would mix academic medicine with community outreach. This will allow me to bring translational research to groups that are often overlooked.

What were you looking for in a fellowship program?

When I applied, I was looking for a program that was supportive of its trainees and the community that it serves. Additionally, I wanted an institution that had exposure to all areas of nephrology. I did not want to limit myself while exploring areas of interest.

Which Scholar pathway will you choose and why?

I will choose the clinical scholar’s pathway because it will prepare me for my long-term goals.

What are the strengths of the Duke program?

The culture of the Duke nephrology program is its greatest strength. When you talk to the faculty and fellows, they’re so passionate about teaching and learning that is becomes infectious.
