From the Director
Hey Fam,
We are getting ready to start Fun-bruary. We know that the end of January has not been super fun and we appreciate everyone helping out during the past week when the assist list was so active, and appreciate in advance for the early part of this week as well. Special thanks to Chief Lonnie for being the Chief on Call during the height of this. Please pay attention to his email about conferences this week.
We will have the “Fun-bruary” calendar out to you this week as well. Looking forward to a little cheer as we round out the winter. This week, we have the first Fellowship Planning Meeting as well as our chance to start Duke off with a win against UNC when we have the first of the two Duke vs UNC resident basketball games!!!!
MANY thanks to all who participated in so many ways to help resident recruitment. The official interview season has come to a close, with a HUGE thanks (no words are enough) to Dr. David Butterly for his tremendous run as our APD for Resident Recruitment. While we joke about him having to hear my speech 290 times, the truth is that he is a huge reason why we have had such incredible residents here in the DukeFam.

Employee Health has Expanded Hours!
Based on feedback from team members who are seeking COVID testing so they can safely return to work with EOHW approval, the COVID hotline has expanded hours for employees: 5:30 a.m. - 6:00 p.m. 7 days per week.
Feeling down? Need to talk to someone? Opportunities for Wellness
All trainees at Duke have FREE access to Personal Assistance Services (PAS), which is the faculty/employee assistance program of Duke University. The staff of licensed professionals offer confidential assessment, short-term counseling, and referrals to help resolve a range of personal, work, and family problems. PAS services are available free of charge to Duke faculty and staff, and their immediate family members. An appointment to meet with a PAS counselor may be arranged by calling the PAS office at 919-416-1PAS (919-416-1727), Monday through Friday between 8:00 A.M. and 5:00 P.M. Prioritized GME appts are now available also at 6 pm and 7 pm! For assistance after hours, residents and fellows can call the Blood and Body Fluid Hotline (115 inside DUH, 919-684-1115 outside) for referral to behavioral health resources.
