Duke Palliative Care supports Duke Health in ensuring all of our patients have access to personalized care that fits with their goals.

Palliative care is a clinical medical specialty that focuses on caring for patients with serious, life-threatening illnesses. Our philosophy is population-based palliative care:  integrating palliative care into the fabric of the care Duke Health patients receive every day. At the core of our program are our palliative care teams who provide an extra layer of support for people facing serious life-threatening illnesses and their families.

Our researchers develop and test innovative improvements in care, and our team of clinician educators train the next generation of health care providers. We also believe we have a mission to serve—and learn from—our community and other programs around the world, so we’re actively engaged in working with others in the region and internationally.

Why Your Gift Matters

The Duke Department of Medicine is dedicated to improving the health and well-being of all through excellence in research, teaching, and patient care. Philanthropy plays an important part in enabling and sustaining this vital work.

You may direct your gift in the way that is most meaningful to you. Your gift can honor or remember someone special, support the research of a promising physician-scientist, fund a scholarship for future doctors and other caregivers, and much more.

Your gift matters – thank you!
