David Ortiz-Melo, MD, assistant professor of medicine (Nephrology), has been appointed as an associate chair of the Department of Medicine Minority Recruitment and Retention Committee.
Dr. Ortiz-Melo will provide leadership, vision, development and implementation for minority alumni affairs, including leadership of the MRRC-sponsored minority alumni association. The MRRC Minority Alumni Association strives to foster and increase meaningful connections with growing numbers of MRRC alumni.
Ortiz-Melo joins the collaborative MRRC team within the Department's Office of Faculty Development and Diversity.
